If you are reading this then you have either found a baby bird that has fallen from it's nest and you aren't sure what to do or you want to learn what to do when you come across one. Now that you've found the bird you have to figure out whether it's a fledgling or a newly born nestling. Most of the time the baby bird is a fledgling. A fledgling is completely covered in feathers and is hopping around. These birds are still under the care of their parents and don't need your help, leave it alone. If the bird is a nestling then it will be small and naked or sparsely covered in feathers. If you can identify the bird's nest nearby then carefully and gently pick up the bird and place it back in it's nest. Then wait for the nestling's parents to return, if they don't come back within the hour then take the bird to a wildlife rehabilitation center. Don't worry, the bird won't be abandoned by it's parents because you touched it, this is a myth. If you find that the young bird's parents are dead and there isn't a nest then you may also take the bird to a wildlife rehabilitation center. If the nest is nowhere to be found then you may craft one using a small container that will hold the bird then place a t-shirt or blanket inside.
